The Rev. Deacon Juan Sandoval

The Rev. Juan Sandoval is an Archdeacon for the Diocese of Atlanta. As a native of Phoenix, AZ, Deacon Sandoval served in the US Air Force as a medic during the Vietnam War. After four years of service, he returned to Phoenix where he completed his college education with a BS in Nursing. Reentering the US Army, he served as an officer in the Nurse Corps. He completed his Master of Science in Nursing and Health Care Administration in 1981, retiring in 1996 from the Army and in 2009 from Director of Nursing for several hospitals in Oklahoma and Atlanta.
Ordained as a deacon in 2011, Juan has served in the Diocese of Atlanta in various capacities, including three Hispanic communities. Currently he is the Archdeacon for Deployment for the Diocese, as well as serving at the Cathedral of St. Philip as Deacon for Hispanic Ministries and Pastoral Care working in the area of immigration as an advocate for our neighbors and the underserved. He currently serves on several boards and is faculty for Bexley Seabury in Chicago and staff at the Episcopal Preaching Foundation.
