At the Cathedral of St. Philip, we know that death can be a complicated and difficult time for families. The Cathedral clergy, staff, and volunteers are here to support you through this transition, and to help your family celebrate the life of your loved one.
The COVID-19 pandemic has complicated dying, death, and grieving in many challenging ways. The clergy and community of the Cathedral are still here for you, and we can work with you to make funeral arrangements that both honor your loved one, and are as safe as possible for those who are grieving. As of this time, we can hold outdoor services, in observance with the latest diocesan guidelines during this season of social distance. For more information, please contact Trammell Williams, twilliams@cathedralATL.org.
We strongly encourage members of the parish to make their funeral arrangements in advance. This information is kept on file in our office. All information is confidential.
Funerals are scheduled through the Pastoral Care office with one of the priests assisting with the arrangements. Funerals may be in the Cathedral or Mikell Chapel, and are usually at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. Members may choose to have their ashes interred in the Cathedral Memorial Garden. For more information, contact Trammell Williams in the Pastoral Care office at 404-365-1067.
To have the name of a deceased loved one published in the Cathedral Times newsletter, a member of the family should contact Hillary Jones, 404-365-1034, to convey personal data as well as funeral arrangements.
