Episcopal Church Women (ECW)
Welcome!
Our ECW Guilds provide another option to be a part of a smaller community at the Cathedral. Each guild brings together a community of women, usually with a common interest or mission, but often to just enjoy each other's company. Our guilds typically meet once a month during a traditional school year. You’re welcome to join one or many, or simply drop in to learn more. Browse the descriptions below to find a guild that you may want to try.
Ready to jump in? Joining a guild is easy! Email Liz Aull to be included on the email list. Pay the dues online (Use the drop down menu to select the correct guild) or by check with the guild name in the memo line. You will be included in emails for upcoming events, announcements, and prayer requests.
Want to learn more first? Want more information on a particular guild, but not ready to jump in yet? Not sure which guild is the best fit for you? No problem, send an email to the ECW and include the guild(s) you’re interested in (if you know), and we’ll reach out to help.
Ways to Join In
We have plenty of ways to be a part of our fantastic ECW community:
- ECW-wide Events: Held at least once a quarter, we bring together women across our community to socialize, learn or support mission efforts. Events include our fall fireside social, bead-making classes, and more.
- ECW Guilds: Smaller communities of women with similar interests who gather regularly for mission, learning and fun. See below for more.
- ECW Board Leadership: Interested in leading a mission, event or across our activities? We have an amazing leadership team that meets monthly to help knit together ECW’s mission and events.
- Cathedral-Wide Events: ECW is a great way to stay in the loop of the many activities at the Cathedral, and to find friends to join you in those events, including Chill on the Hill, Thrift House Follies, and more.
To join the ECW Mailing List, please email Liz Aull, our Program Coordinator for Membership and Stewardship (laull@cathedralATL.org), with "Join the ECW Mailing List" in the subject line by clicking the button above.

Flower Guild It is a busy time for the Cathedral Flower Guild! We are currently planning floral designs to be used throughout the season for the Cathedral’s various worship spaces, including not only regular Sunday services, but also weddings, baptisms, special altar dedications and festivals! There is much to do throughout the week and we are always looking for new members who want to get involved with a fun group of men and women of all ages who enjoy fellowship while providing a beautiful service to the Cathedral. Whether someone loves flowers or doesn’t know a thing about them, there’s a place for you in the Cathedral Flower Guild. To learn more, contact the Rev. Canon Cathy Zappa. |

St. Anne's Guild St. Anne’s Guild has three focus areas: Outreach ministry, social fellowship and spirituality. Our primary outreach ministry is the Cathedral Towers, where we are a ministry of presence with the residents, coming together for monthly events, with Rev. Canon Julia Mitchener as our spiritual guide. Our spirituality is shared through speakers, guests and programs. Our social fellowship is celebrated during our meetings, at biannual parties at members’ homes, and with other occasional outings. We meet monthly on Thursdays at 11:30 in the Gould Room. Date is speaker driven. Our age range is 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, but we welcome any age to join in. Co-chairs: Kendrick Dopp and Laura Corrigan |

St. Elizabeth's Guild St. Elizabeth's Guild members are mostly women who enjoy participating in the life of the church through its varied volunteer opportunities. Our focus is on fellowship and learning. Each month, interesting speakers are invited to educate us about things spiritual and important to the Cathedral. St. Elizabeth’s main “in-reach” entity is the Gilham Grounds fund, originally endowed by one of our members, which maintains the Cathedral’s campus. Each year, we also choose an outreach entity to receive our support. We typically meet at noon on first Wednesdays in the Gould Room for lunch, fellowship, and to learn. Co-Chair: Mary Semmes Wright |

St. Veronica’s Guild St. Veronica’s Guild welcomes all women of the Cathedral at any stage in your life. Our focus includes mission, participation in worship, spiritual growth, a speaker series, and building lasting friendships. We support four vital Atlanta Episcopal ministries and have done so for over 20 years. Holy Comforter Episcopal Church Friendship Center, Crossroads Community Ministries, Church of the Common Ground, and Emmaus House are supplied with personal care items from our guild. We raise money to purchase these items in bulk from funds raised during our annual Epiphany Drive each January. In addition to this ongoing outreach project, we help with additional needs for those and other worthy outreach ministries. We meet monthly (September through May) on the second Tuesday of the month at 10:30 a.m. in the Gould Room. Coffee and fellowship begin at 10 a.m. Chair: Mary Rankin |

ECW Primary Mission Programs
Cathedral Giving By Design builds on the rich 52-year history of community outreach by the Episcopal Church Women of the Cathedral of St Philip. To date, Cathedral Giving By Design (formerly known as the Cathedral Antiques Show) has donated over $6 million to meet the needs of Atlanta’s most vulnerable citizens.
In 2024, Cathedral Giving By Design celebrated and supported The Boyce L. Ansley School.
The Ansley School educates children in our community experiencing homelessness in Kindergarten through 4th grade and provides vital support services for their families to break generational cycles of poverty and housing insecurity. Our work this year raised the necessary funds for the Ansley School to add a 5th grade class in 2024!
Keep an eye out for how to engage as we kick off our 2025 planning efforts very soon!
2025 CGBD Co-Chairs: Lesley Foster and Rebecca Hollingsworth
