Allegro Music Classes for Children
If you want a fun, structured activity for your child that is as educational as it is fun, Allegro is for you! Movement and music activities are perfect for child development.
Noon Year's Eve 2020

Living Nativity 2019
Join us for the Living Nativity from 10–11 a.m. this Sunday, December 15 in Child Hall. All are welcome!
Christmas Pageant Sign-ups 2019
It is almost time to sign up for the Christmas Pageant, held every year at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. All children registered in Sunday School, from the 4-year-olds through fifth grade, are welcome to participate. If your child is not registered for Sunday School, please contact Lisa McNamara, lmcnamara@cathedralATL.org, or register at cathedralATL.org/children. A pageant sign-up table will be in the Atrium on Sundays, November 10, November 17, and December 8. We do request that all sign ups are done in person.
Halloween Costume Blessing 2019

Emma's Closet 2019
In preparation for the Homeless Requiem, Emma’s Closet is currently collecting coats and shoes for adults and children. We will distribute them to our guests on November 1. Back to School Bash and Backpack Blessing
Kick off the school year with us on the Lanier House Lawn! Tex's Taco Truck and King of Pops will be onsite. Choose one taco, one side, one drink, and one King of Pops on us. Additional food is available for purchase directly from the vendors.
Godly Play Returns!
Godly Play, our Sunday School classes for children age 2 through fifth grade, returns next Sunday, September 8, at 10:10 a.m. Helping parents to access age-appropriate ways to participate in and reflect on our liturgical life, our sacred stories, our call to Christian service, our charge to share the Good News, and our shared spiritual life is essential to our ministry with children. Godly Play is at the heart of our Sunday morning classes and the Godly Play philosophy permeates all that we do with children and families at the Cathedral.

Children's Chapel is Back this Week
Children’s Chapel resumes in full this Sunday, September 8. Children’s Chapel takes place during the 8:45 a.m. service as an option for parents and children who are not yet ready to experience the full liturgy together, though children are always welcome in “big” church. Children four years (by September 1, 2019) through fifth grade begin in church with their parents, then follow the children’s acolytes and leaders out at the sequence hymn. Children rejoin their parents at the Offertory. Two- and three-year-olds attend their own chapel service, which begins at 8:45 a.m.
Godly Play Open House This Week
Parents are invited to join their children ages 2 through 5th grade for Godly Play Open House this Sunday, August 25 at 10:10 a.m. Meet your teachers, hear a story, and share a feast. Musikgarten Allegro Classes for Children through age 8
Using play, movement, singing, and instruments, Allegro and Musikgarten classes help younger children develop musical skills and knowledge as well as an appreciation for music. Children and their parents find this to be a wonderful introduction to the music program at the Cathedral.
Who is My Neighbor? Learning to Love Like Jesus!
Children ages 3 to 5th grade join us June 10-14 from 9 am to 1 pm for our Week of Wonder. We are learning who are neighbors are, they are more than people who live next door. Through five carefully chosen Bible stories, we will go on a journey to discover more about God's love. From looking at how to be a neighbor and how to be compassionate towards our neighbors close at hand and around the world. Join us as we discover neighbors near and far.
Lemonade in the Shade
All are invited to the Lanier House Lawn on Sundays at 10:10 a.m. for lemonade, cookies, and a chance to catch up with old friends or meet new ones.
Living Nativity 2018
Join us for the Living Nativity from 10–11 a.m. this Sunday, December 16 in Child Hall. All are welcome! Regular Sunday School classes will not meet.
Dinner with St. Nicholas
Everyone’s favorite dinner guest is back! Join St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, Wednesday, December 5 for fun and dinner. There will be Christmas crafts and treats from St. Nick himself. The fun begins at 5:30 p.m.
Advent Wreath Making
The Cathedral’s annual Advent wreath making event will take place on Sunday, November 25 from 5-7 p.m. in Child Hall. Wreath kits include the circular form, candles, candle holders, and a booklet on celebrating Advent at home. The kits are $12. Some greenery will be provided but everyone is encouraged to bring their own clippings and clippers as well.
Christmas Pageant Sign-up
It is time to sign up for the Christmas Pageant, held every year at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Annual Children's Book Drive
For the fourth year, the Cathedral Book Store is collecting new books for the children at the Homeless Requiem, the children at the Arrendale Prison Children’s Center, the young people at Covenant House, and the children at Wilderness Works, this year’s Antiques Show beneficiary. Books are available to purchase at the Cathedral Book Store during regular business hours or in the Atrium from 9 -11 a.m. each Sunday in October. Our goal is to collect 250 books to be distributed to children attending the Homeless Requiem in November and to the other groups in December. Please purchase a book and help each of these beautiful children receive a wonderful gift this year!
Halloween Costume Blessing
All goblins, princesses, witches, and superheroes are invited to our Halloween costume blessing, Sunday, October 28. Dinner is served at 5 p.m., followed by our spooky procession around the campus, complete with a thrilling visit from the Phantom of the Opera and s’mores at our final destination. The event will wrap up by 7 p.m.
Pajama Day in Support of Emma’s Closet
Emma’s Closet is now collecting coats and shoes to be distributed at the Homeless Requiem. Children who bring items on Sunday, October 21 to donate are invited to wear their PJs to church. This year we are collecting items for all people. We have noticed a high demand for men’s shoes. We would love to collect a large selection of men’s track shoes or outdoor thick-soled shoes in assorted sizes. We still need items for children but we are expanding our inventory this year to adults.
EYSeedlings for 4th and 5th Graders
Our EYSeedlings are heading to Topgolf! All 4th and 5th grade students are invited to join us Sunday, September 16 at Topgolf in Midtown to kick off the 2018-2019 school year.
We will play golf from 4–6 p.m. The cost per golfer is $15 and includes two hours of tee time, dinner, and a lifetime Junior Membership to Topgolf.
Help a Child with School Supplies
Each year the Georgia Justice Project (GJP) hosts a back-to-school event for the children of their clients, providing new backpacks filled with all of the school supplies required by Atlanta Public Schools. This year the event will be held on July 14 and 325 children will be in attendance.
