We choose to give to the Cathedral of St. Philip because it has been part of our family’s faith journey from the very beginning. We first visited when our oldest daughter, Louise, was a newborn and her first service was the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Pageant, and from that moment on we felt at home and excited about what the future could hold for our baby. The sheep and angels making their way down the aisle to tell the story of Christ’s birth is such a fond memory holding our daughter during that joyful noise. Five years later, having our second daughter, Hannah, baptized here deepened that sense of belonging even further.
We have been especially grateful to see how the church has become an anchor in our eldest daughter’s weekly routine. She has found joy and confidence through the Allegro Choir and looks forward to Sundays when she serves as an acolyte in Children’s Chapel. Watching her grow in faith, responsibility, and community has been a true gift to our family. The faith she is building and the community she is enriched have shown us how important financially giving to St. Philip’s is. We want to support the programs to continue and grow that community for children in Atlanta.
We also look forward with hope and gratitude to Hannah growing into the many opportunities the children’s ministries offer. Our giving is one small way we express thanks and help ensure this church continues to be a nurturing place for children and families for years to come.
