The Cathedral’s Outreach Ministry, funded in part by the Plummer Fund, supports the efforts of several charitable organizations in the Atlanta area whose primary mission is to serve those who are unhoused, at risk of becoming unhoused, or are otherwise a vulnerable population. While engaging with our community partners by volunteering and serving with them, the Cathedral also contributes monetarily to ensure stability for our partners’ ongoing efforts to serve our neighbors.
The Outreach Ministry at the Cathedral continues to grow as populations on the margins face inflation, stagnating wages, health coverage gaps, and rising housing costs. The Outreach Ministry helps to fund the Cathedral’s Annual Homeless Requiem, and provides support for Buckhead Cares, Church of the Common Ground, Emmaus House, and LaAmistad, among others.
The Outreach Endowment ensures that the Cathedral will be able to support these and other ministries for years to come. The Cathedral is grateful for the funding that allows our parish to live out the Baptismal Covenant and serve Christ by striving for justice and peace among all people and respecting the dignity of every human being.
Many thanks to all donors to the Cathedral’s Outreach Ministry, including the Hellen Plummer Foundation, which made a significant contribution to the fund recently.
