The Cathedral Nominating Committee has submitted the following slate of candidates, approved by the Chapter, to be voted on by the parish at the annual Parish Meeting, which will take place on Sunday, December 7 at 10 a.m. in Child Hall. The incoming Chapter class will serve a three-year term, 2026–2028. The Dean has appointed Haven Long as Senior Warden for 2026-2027. Mary Hall Perrin continues her two-year term as Junior Warden.
Nominees

Ian Bond
Ian Bond has been attending the Cathedral since 2010 and a member since 2021. He began his Christian journey as a member of the Church of England in the Diocese of St. Albans. He currently serves on the Friends of Cathedral Music board and is a lay chalice bearer, lector, intercessor, and usher. Professionally Ian has worked in higher education, coaching, international relations, and managing international projects. After retirement Ian and his wife, Julie, established a consulting business to empower and connect people and projects globally through executive coaching and international networking. He has studied history, political philosophy, religion and ministry, and is an ordained pastor. He’s also been involved with the Rotary Club in several capacities. Ian and Julie have two adult children, David and Bella.

Chris Coleman
Chris Coleman has been a communicant at St. Philip’s since the summer of 2021. Chris and his wife Mary are active members of the Cathedral’s Godly Play Parents group. He also serves on Sundays as a lector and lay chalice bearer, and has served in years past on the Ricks-Wheeler Committee. Chris and Mary live in Decatur and have three kids: George (6), Blaire (4), and Freddie (2). Chris is an attorney with King & Spalding LLP. Whenever Chris is able to find a little free time, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, and rooting for the Tennessee Volunteers. Chris holds a Master of Divinity degree from Wake Forest University, and while in divinity school, he served for two years as the parish intern at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Pam Melton
Pam Melton has been a member of the Cathedral since 1988 and currently serves as co-chair for Cathedral Giving By Design 2026. She is actively involved in Education for Ministry, Community of Hope, Foyers, Bible Studies, various guilds, outreach initiatives, and regularly fulfills the roles of lector and intercessor on Sundays. After retiring from her corporate career in marketing and finance in 2023, Pam has continued to contribute through advisory board service. She holds national certification as a Pilates Instructor with Club Pilates and teaches Zumba and Dance Fitness classes. Additionally, Pam is an engaged participant in two book clubs. She and her husband, Terry, are the parents of two adult children: Caroline Melton Balsavage (31) and John Melton (27).

Samantha Puckett
Samantha Puckett has been a Cathedral Choir Staff Singer since 2011, and was confirmed at the Cathedral in 2013. She recently joined the Newcomers Committee, and makes serving in the Flower Guild a Christmas holiday tradition. Samantha is the coordinator and director of the choir fundraiser, Choirs Uncorked, which has occurred in 2019, 2022, 2023, and 2025. At the Lovett School, she is the Choral Assistant for grades 6-12, teaches private voice lessons, and since 2022 has been the Music Director for the upper school musical. Samantha is originally from Texas and she received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from West Texas A&M University. In addition to volunteering at school and church where needed, Samantha is also a 5 gallon blood donor with the Red Cross. She loves to read, cook, bake at home with her mother, and she loves her Dallas Cowboys.

Amelia Randall
Amelia Randall has been active at the Cathedral since 2021 and a member since 2022. She currently serves as an Usher for Evensong, lay chalice bearer, lector/intercessor, Godly Play storyteller, adult acolyte, and acolyte advisor. She’s also been the Homeless Requiem Committee Chair for the past two years. Professionally, Amelia is the Senior Finance Director for Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics. She has served on several advisory boards and has volunteered in several capacities for Georgia elections. Amelia has many creative interests, including needlework and music. Amelia is joined in her ministry here by her husband, Justin Karch.

Rick Tyler
Rick Tyler has been an active communicant at St. Philip’s for the past twenty years. He is currently an Education for Ministry mentor, Chair of the Cathedral Scholars committee, co-leader for Community of Hope, and member of the Spiritual Formation Committee. Now retired, Rick previously served as Minister of Education and Youth at Broadway Baptist Church (Louisville, KY); as Chief Fiduciary Executive for Barnett Banks Trust Company (Jacksonville, FL), and in consulting for the financial services industry (Atlanta, GA). Rick has advisory board and other volunteer experience with the Florida Symphony Orchestra, Youth Crisis Center, Cause for Hope, and is his HOA president and past treasurer. He also has a Master of Divinity degree and has a long-standing interest in studying theology. Rick’s two golden retrievers, Casper and Finn, keep him active and busy when he’s not serving at the Cathedral.
Wardens

Haven Long
Haven has been a Cathedral member for her entire life! A few of her recent involvements include: President of ECW, Children’s Chapel leader, Education for Ministry mentor, member of St. Clare’s Guild, and Newcomers Committee. In a previous term on the Cathedral Chapter, she served as Treasurer for three years. Professionally, Haven is the Assistant Director of Development for the Atlanta Speech School. She enjoys board governance and currently serves on the Emmaus House Foundation Board. Haven and Randy are parents to Lilly, a recent college graduate, and Charlie, a college student.

Mary Hall Perrin
Mary joined the Cathedral in 1976 and was the Honorary Chair of the 2024 Cathedral Giving by Design. She also serves on the Cathedral Endowment Board, Friends of Cathedral Music Board, the Funeral Guild, St. Anne’s Guild, Altar Guild and as a lay reader. In the past she chaired the Cathedral Antiques Show, served on the Chapter including Junior Warden and on the search committee for the Dean and many other Cathedral organizations including the Cathedral Choir. Mary has retired from professional work but currently serves on the HOA Board of Trustees where she lives and has served on boards for garden clubs and neighborhood associations. She is widowed and has adult children and enjoys 8 grandchildren.
