Join us at Kanuga!
Dear St. Philip’s Family,
“Mommy, when do we get to go back to Church Camp??” “Daddy, do we get to go back to church in the mountains soon?” This is the constant banter back and forth between Baldwin and Clayton Perrin throughout the last year following Kanuga 2025. This is one of the many reasons we will absolutely be returning to Kanuga this year and for many to come.
As Memorial Day weekend approaches, we hope you’ll consider joining us and fellow parishioners for Kanuga—a time that is not only refreshing but transformative for individuals and families alike.
In the midst of our full and often hurried lives, setting aside a long weekend for rest, devotion and community is a rare and meaningful gift. At Kanuga, the usual distractions fall away, making room for something deeper: shared prayer, unhurried conversations, laughter and the humbling beauty of God’s creation. Think sunset happy hours, s’mores, nature scavenger hunts, family bingo, congregation-wide olympics, bible study with Dean Candler, singing, bedtime Compline, porch hangouts and so much more. Thirty-six hours of a rejuvenating getaway just a couple hours from Atlanta.
What makes this weekend especially compelling is the way it strengthens our life as a community. When we spend time together beyond the walls of the church—sharing meals, exploring the outdoors, and worshiping side by side—relationships grow in ways that simply aren’t possible otherwise. Children further embrace church as a place of joy and belonging. Adults find renewal and encouragement among each other. And those connections carried back with us enrich our common life at St. Philip’s and at home in Atlanta in lasting ways.
If you’ve been before, you know how meaningful this experience can be. If you haven’t, this Memorial Day weekend is a wonderful opportunity to step into something new—something that may become a cherished tradition for you and your family like it has for ours.
We encourage you not to let this opportunity pass by. We would love for you to be part of it with us.
