Elizabeth Oldfield at the Cathedral This Weekend!

This weekend, we welcome writer and speaker Elizabeth Oldfield for two events in the Good Faith Chapel. On Saturday, October 17, Elizabeth will present at the Cathedral’s 17th Annual Spirituality Conference, with an offering titled “Becoming the People the World Needs Now.” Participants will explore with Elizabeth what it means to grow up our souls in order to meet this moment. Drawing on theology, philosophy, behavioral psychology and more, we will spend time clarifying our values, reflecting on our formation, and building courage, steadiness and even joy for these turbulent times.

The conference is from 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and includes lunch. Registration is available at cathedralATL.org/spiritualityconference. Since 2009, people have traveled from around the Southeast (and beyond) to spend the day in retreat at the Spirituality Conference with acclaimed writers and teachers of Christian spirituality, including Richard Rohr, Pádraig Ó Tuama, John Philip Newell, Barbara Brown Taylor, Becca Stevens, and Lerita Coleman Brown.

Then, on Sunday morning, October 18, Dean Sam Candler hosts Elizabeth in the Dean’s Forum at 10:10 a.m. Elizabeth’s presentation there will be “We are the Makers of Each Other: Community as Resilience.” No registration is needed for this Sunday school class.
