All Saints’ Great Three Days!

This weekend, we celebrate the All Saints’ Great Three Days!

Following All Saints' Day on November 1, we will baptize new Christians at the 8:45 and 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, November 2. Those individuals to be baptized are listed on page 2.

Later on Sunday, at 4:00 p.m., we will offer a Choral Requiem Eucharist in remembrance of members and friends of the Cathedral who have died during the past year. The image-rich and comforting texts of the Requiem mass—the ancient Christian burial service—will be prayed this year using the music of Requiem by Gabriel Fauré sung by the Cathedral Choir and accompanied by a string orchestra and organ. The Rev. Canon Salmoon Bashir will preach, and the Rev. Canon Ashley Carr will celebrate. Those individuals to be remembered by name are listed here.

Then on Monday, November 3, we will host a holy evening of remembrance and community at our 37th Annual Homeless Requiem. The Homeless Requiem is a service in memory of individuals who have died in the past year while unhoused. Buses will pick up guests—Atlantans currently experiencing homelessness—at various shelters and encampments, and bring them to the Cathedral where we and our service provider partners offer healthcare screenings, a foot clinic, clothing closet, a communal meal, and more. At 6:15 p.m. guests can participate in the Choral Prelude by Atlanta Voices, followed by the Requiem Service at 7:00 p.m. The preacher this year will be the Rev. Rhett Solomon, Associate Rector of Holy Trinity Parish, Decatur, and the Very Rev. Sam Candler will celebrate.

Please pray with us for these saints, and for all the saints!
