A Lenten Reflection Class

This Land: Seeking Repair Alongside Indigenous Communities
Thursdays, Beginning February 12
1–3 p.m., Lanier House

Through prayer, art, poetry, and storytelling, the JustFaith program, “This Land,” reflects upon the history and the impact of American culture upon the people of Indigenous Nations. The material looks toward an understanding of the past while encouraging participants to consider ways to contribute to relationship building for the future.
The class includes eight sessions, held on Thursday afternoons from 1–3 p.m., beginning February 12 and concluding April 16. Please note: There will be no sessions on February 26 or April 2.

The ecumenical curriculum will include reading two books, The Land is Not Empty by Sarah Augustine, and Living Nations, Living Words: An Anthology of First Peoples Poetry, which was Joy Harjo’s signature project as the 23rd US Poet Laureate. The course material is produced by the JustFaith ministry. This class has limited capacity. Early sign-up is highly recommended.
