Pastoral Care

Grief Group with Meg Moye

This fall, Meg Moye of the Cathedral Counseling Center will facilitate “The Journey of Grief” on three Tuesdays, October 18, October 25, and November 1, from noon–1:30 p.m. in the Lanier House. This group is for those experiencing the death of a loved one and seeking a place to share their journey through grief and loss with others experiencing the feelings and challenges that follow. We offer a supportive, confidential space to explore the process of grief and share with others our journey toward physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The cost is $90 for the three sessions. For more information or to reserve your spot, contact Meg Moye, 404-483-8711.

What Can the Pastoral Care Department Do For you?

Did you know that if you or a loved one cannot come to church, either for a short or extended period of time, Eucharistic Visitors can bring communion to you at your home? Trained lay members of the Cathedral, Eucharistic Visitors bring Holy Communion to those who cannot get to church. They typically visit homes or living facilities after the 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services on Sundays. If you or someone you love isn’t able to get to church and would like two Eucharistic Visitors to bring communion to you, please call Jeannie Mahood at 404-365-1034 to make arrangements. Also, if you are going into the hospital, or your living circumstances change, please contact Jeannie so that a priest can visit with you.
