Last year, we had to conduct our annual parish meeting in the outdoor labyrinth! But, this year, we think we can make it work inside the parish hall, safely distanced. Whether you are a member or a friend, please join us this Sunday, December 5, at 10:10 a.m. in Child Hall for the annual parish meeting of the Cathedral of St. Philip! (Only confirmed members can vote, but anyone can attend.) No adult classes will meet during this time.
At this meeting, all members—and all associate members, friends, and visitors!—gather together for common celebration. Ours is a grand community, a “great community of communities,” and this parish meeting is our opportunity to gather in one place – especially this year, as we continue to regather safely, in person. The parish meeting will also be streamed online here.
Join us! We will hear reports from myself and from several parish leaders. The annual parish report, with its complete review of the 2021 year, will also be distributed.
Please pray for the slate of Chapter nominees for the Chapter class of 2024. Our Nominating Committee has worked faithfully and efficiently to present a slate of six nominees—Rod Bunn, Sally Burge, Sara Chapman, Tucker Ballard Mahoney, Melody Palmore, and Ted Park. The Dean has appointed Ward Bondurant as Senior Warden. Sam Wilmoth continues his two-year term as Junior Warden. You can read their biographies here.
Also on this parish meeting Sunday, during our morning services, we will form an offertory Procession of Pledges! You should have received those 2022 pledge cards by mail in the last several weeks. Pray about your pledge this year, and pledge generously! Bring your cards to church, and then walk to the altar following the usual procession of bread, wine, and Sunday gifts. Others will join you. We need your commitment, no matter how small or large. Even if you do not have a pledge card that day, you may process simply with your commitment to give in 2022. I am so thankful for each of you this year!
