Slippery Fish and the Truth We Cannot Bear
The Rev. Canon Ashley Carr
The Rev. Canon Ashley Carr serves as Canon for Parish Life. She grew up in Sewanee, Tennessee and attended the University of the South where she majored in religion. After college, Ashley moved to Atlanta and began working in the Diocese of Atlanta as a youth minister. After a few years of youth work and discernment, she attended seminary at Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Ashley was ordained to the priesthood in 2015 and has served as Curate at Holy Trinity, Decatur, Associate Rector at St. Benedict’s Smyrna, and most recently as the Vicar at Holy Comforter in Atlanta. She has also served as part-time chaplain at St. Benedict’s Episcopal School and the Lovett School. She is passionate about preaching, writing, and finding engaging ways to connect people with God and one another in the name of God. Ashley and her family live in Decatur where they enjoy good food and lots of outside time.
