The Antiques Show’s tradition of great talks and book signings continues this year. On Thursday, February 9, interior design superstar Alexa Hampton will give a presentation at 10:30 a.m. followed by a book signing, and SCAD alumnus Chuck Chewning, who designed the award-winning renovation of Venice’s legendary Gritti Palace hotel, will give a presentation at 1:30 p.m. Dallas-based interior designer Cathy Kincaid, whose exquisite work truly exemplifies our 2017 theme, The Art of Gracious Living, will give a presentation at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. February 11.
Flowers will take center stage on Friday, February 10, when former White House floral designer Laura Dowling and flower magazine editor-in-chief Margot Shaw will headline our flower festival. Dowling’s appearance at the show marks the official launch of her new book, Floral Diplomacy at the White House; her presentation at 10:30 a.m. will be followed by a book signing. Shaw’s presentation is at 1:30 p.m., followed by an Iron Floral Design Competition in which three teams will be given identical materials to create timed floral designs.
As an added bonus, Rebecca Vizard of B. Viz Design and Atlanta favorite James Farmer will sign books Thursday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m., respectively. Books will be available for purchase at all book signings.
