Labyrinth and Taizé to Remember the Victims of Orlando Shooting

Our Taizé service this month, on Monday, June 20 at 8 p.m, will be a service of prayer and remembrance for the victims of the massacre in Orlando on June 12. Originating in Taizé, France, this simple service of scripture, music, and candlelight takes place every third Monday in Mikell Chapel.

Prior to the Taizé service, from 6:30–8 p.m., the outdoor labyrinth will be open for all to walk and pray, with music. The summer solstice in the northern hemisphere occurs that evening at 6:34 p.m. At this moment the sun appears to stop, giving Atlantans approximately 14 and a half hours of sunlight this day. Solstice celebrations are time-honored traditions; orientation for those new to the Labyrinth will be at 6:30.

Wherever you are, may God’s extravagant light on this day be upon you and refresh your spirit.
