The Feast of St. Francis is always a special day at the Cathedral. It is a day to celebrate the joy that our pets bring into our lives and our homes. This year in particular, we also need to remember those pets that have been displaced because of the recent hurricanes. The Atlanta Humane Society (AHS) has accepted animals from areas impacted by the storms. These animals are currently in the care, or will soon be in the care, of the AHS, which is in desperate need of donations. Your donation may be in goods or volunteering of your time, but at this particular time cash is especially appreciated!
Stop by the Atlanta Humane Society table on St. Francis Day, Sunday, October 1, to make a donation. A member of the Humane Society and Cathedral member Karen Bunn will be at the table throughout the morning to receive your donations.
Items that are needed include:
Milkbone dog biscuits (medium, small, or mini size); newspapers; bleach; laundry detergent; poop bags; paper towels; old towels; stainless steel dog bowls (2-cup size); tennis balls; house training pads; ink pens; Sharpie markers; 45-gallon trash bags; gift cards from Amazon, Kroger, Home Depot, and Lowe’s; cash donations.
