The 45th Cathedral Antiques Show, January 31–February 7, 2016, is a weeklong array of antiques dealers, lectures, a flower festival, two unique home tours, and an Inspiration Avenue by top designers. All proceeds benefit Literacy Action, which helps to build better futures for undereducated adults by teaching literacy, life, and work skills. First Place Passion Tour: Sunday, January 31
Five unique homes in a charming intown neighborhood are on tour and reflect the creativity and passion of first-time homeowners. Ideas galore!
Preview Party: Wednesday, February 3
The Preview Party is the gala opening night which offers an exclusive first look at the show. Sponsors, patrons, and their guests will be able to browse the antiques, flowers, and innovative design while enjoying delectable offerings of food and wine.
The Antiques Show: February 4-6
The Antiques Show features more than twenty-five select dealers from around the country offering a wide variety of beautiful antiques and collectibles in a broad price range, including exquisite porcelain, furniture, jewelry, rugs, art, and silver.
Inspiration Avenue: February 4-7
Located on the second floor of the Cathedral, Inspiration Avenue is for those who have a passion for interior design that mixes antiques and contemporary furniture. Interior and floral designers collaborate to present nine different rooms with this year’s theme, “Books to Broadway,” supporting Literacy Action.
Flower Festival: February 4-7
See the best in creative floral design. Multiple spaces throughout the Cathedral, including Inspiration Avenue, are adorned with the work of leading floral designers as well as Atlanta garden clubs and flower guilds.
Talks and Signings: February 4-6
Experience a selection of engaging presentations and book signings by leading interior and floral designers, tastemakers, and artisans who share their experiences and insights on the art of gracious living. Our speakers include interior designer Suzanne Rheinstein, Veranda magazine editor-in-chief Clint Smith, European floral designer and educator Gudrun Cottenier, and Southern author extraordinaire Julia Reed.
An Evening With Julia Reed: Friday, February 5
Enjoy drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and great conversation with Garden & Gun’s Julia Reed in the ambiance of a Buckhead estate. The essayist and author of the best selling But Mama Always Put Vodka in Her Sangria is a master conversationalist and an avowed bon vivant.
Tour of Homes: Sunday, February 7
Step into a world of timeless style as five of Atlanta’s most beautiful private residences are opened to the public for just one day. Each home is a showcase of the best in interior design, architecture, and craftsmanship. The tour culminates the Cathedral Antiques Show in what promises to be a tremendous finish.
