“Working with Habitat is a rewarding experience based on the simple premise of people helping people.”

My name is Will Klein, and I have been a Habitat volunteer at St. Philip’s for more than ten years and at Atlanta Habitat for almost eight. Working with Habitat is a rewarding experience based on the simple premise of people helping people (to borrow a credit union slogan). Teaming with others at St. Philip’s and our partner churches, we build a house each year for a deserving family. It is not given to them – they get a mortgage just like the rest of us – but the help of volunteers and contributors makes it affordable. The homeowners work alongside the volunteers and continually thank us for helping. The truth is we should thank them for the satisfaction received in providing them a house which they, in turn, make into a home. It is a pleasure which starts in the heart and radiates out, providing a truly wonderful feeling. Please join me in contributing to St. Philip’s 30th house so that you – like me – can realize the meaning of the words of Jesus, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Thank you!
